In addition to my licenses and certifications I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), member number 6258536. During the 2009 ACA National Conference in Charlotte I presented to my peers on the importance of behavioral health services for children and families. This membership continually helps me to stay current within the counseling profession. My ACA membership also makes me eligible to complete behavioral rating scales within my scope of practice through my credentialing by Pearson Assessments.
Beginning in 2011 and ending in 2012, I was selected among my local professional peers to complete an Intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Training program by Behavioral Tech, LLC. a company founded by Dr. Marsha Linehan, the creator of DBT.
I am required by the NCBLPC, NCSAPPB and the NBCC to complete Continuing Education Classes in order to keep my licenses and certifications. These certificates are available upon request and are kept on file with the respective boards.
My goal as a Licensed Counselor is to offer support, effective skills and clinical experience as you navigate closer to your goals. With over 8 years experience as a counselor in the schools, community mental health/substance use agencies and now my private counseling practice I look forward to working with you.
